I got the same reaction when I took my niece’s nose.
I had a great uncle who did that trick. When we saw him and we didn’t recognize him he’s do that trick and we’d exclaim “Uncle Lou!”
My dad lost the end of one finger at Pearl Harbor and he used it to scare kids out of picking their noses, among other things. He’d see a child with their finger up their nose, turn slightly away and put his own finger near his nose, then pull it away and look startled. The poor kid probably never put their hands near their face again!
We all start to fall apart when we get old.
My brother did the trick on my son, he said I got a better trick, Uncle pull my finger!
Neat, can you do that with your head too.
Steve Martin in a scene from the movie, “Parenthood.”
That child is going to have problems growing up.
And I thought only MY dad did this trick.
