My guess is if you want to play the “I won’t do business in a country that abuses human rights” card, no one will do business with the US, either. Clean your own house first.

Who cares about basketball?

Colleges sign deals with MANY companies that do business with China. The athletes have to wear the apparel as part of the deal. There are restrictions regarding the use of support tape or anything else that might obscure the logo. Once an athlete has played using a specific brand, especially for something like shoes, changing could interfere with their performance.

As usual, Goodwyn misplaces the blame. The only question I have is this intentional distraction or ignorance of the issues.

Beyond pointing out L. James’ prominence, just what is Goodwyn saying? That U.S. companies shouldn’t do business with China? Walmart, for example?

The general manager of the Houston Rockets was forced to quit by the NBA when he made a twit supporting Hong Kong. China’s market is special to the NBA; they’re not going to let anyone stir up trouble, even LeBron James.

Interesting, no one here is addressing the main point of the cartoon, China’s human rights violations and the NBA looking the other way to placate the CCP and make a buck. Good progressives. Sit. Stay. Speak.
