    the first 2 lines sum it up nicely, the others are a fib to justify the existance of art schools

    @Zen Pencils
    Gavin-sama, how can I ever thank you? You have renewed every hope I had for becoming a literature professor!

    Literature is my only passion in life. I am a writer, and the only day job I could ever dream of holding is that of a literature professor in college. Despite what haters like Zyreenesque say, there will always be a need for literature in the world.

    And your homage to Maurice Sendak in panel 5 is simply an expression of how the arts will always be needed in the world.

    We don’t have to justify ourselves towards suits like these, Gavin-sama. People like you and me are responsible for bringing social change in the world, working behind the scenes like the stagehands, make-up crew, film, sound and video editors and all the unsung heroes of a film crew.

    From one writer to another, Gavin-sama…arigato gozaimasu.

    Well good one.
    At least you did not PO the anti violence ones visiting the site. Sorry for them.
    Like everyday I read your strip. I become a little more enlightened.

    I do not attend art school, but I do most of those. I sing in the shower, dance to the radio, write some terrible poetry, and it gives me a good feeling to know that I have created something worthwhile, even if it isn’t up to the ‘standards’ of the art world.

    Honestly, it seems like the opposite of your comment is true, this poem shows why art schools are not necessary.

    I agree with the whole thing. I have always enjoyed art in its many forms While I was away at school I wrote (poetry and short stories) but the rest of the time I just like to make things beautiful (whether painting, sculpting or working in dozens of different media) I work to fill a need to fill a space on a wall, make a more comfortable pair of shoes, create a piece of jewelry or stained glass.

    And I love to share my work (showing it but seldom part with it). I was careful to get back things made for my parents when they passed.

    Not against the violence per se, but my comment the other day was that the last few seemed to concentrate on the use of force.

    I know that even George Washington used what some might consider excessive force when it was necessary.

    Ditto. I write lousy stuff, and I sing every chance I get. I’m alone most of the day, so it pretty much keeps me sane.

    If it were me in panel 2 I would be more comfortable laying on my side. It would certainly make my soul grow.

    Flippant remarks aside, nice comic, thx.
