    Thar’s because it’s a Neil Gaiman “poem”, and he is known for mixing dark with light and reality with fantasy.. This was part of a commencement speech he made, widely considered one of the most inspiring ever, and became the meat of a book he later wrote. If you are not familiar with him this is a good start ;-)
