My brother would yell, “LOAD” and all the dogs would jump in the back of the 1967 F-100

Looks like that wagon is now a scaled-back model.

On the other hand, saying VET has the opposite effect.
(Of course… when the Vet sees the Wiz coming in with Henry… he might be the one to run!

My 17-pound cock-a-poo used to love to ride in the box of my F-150, and one day jumped out over the side of the truck to ‘confer’ with an interesting acquaintance he spotted in a yard that we passed.
I was amazed, and thought that was equivalent to me jumping out of my second floor window to meet the UPS driver.

I used to get my German shepherd/black Lab, Max (1994-2006) all excited when I would sing the “Digger the dog” commercial in front of him. “Just pull his leash and go for a walk, he’s your dog, for sure!” “Leash” and “walk” were magic words to him.

@Ashburn, nice reminder – I had forgotten that. All I had to do was jingle the leashes and my Bassetts would come tearing from anywhere in the house/yard to go. Are you a Phillie fan, BTW?

Kid Sister used the same command. When her pack of Hounds, Shepherds and Pit Bulls came running it was quite a sight. :-)

Lucky you. My mom’s Bassets were never thrilled to go out on a leash. Usually meant the vet. One would go quietly, but Mandy would turn it into Marie Antoinette going to execution.
