In Calgary, we don’t have potholes in the roads.
We have roads in the potholes.

Back in the 1980s, Overdrive magazine, a trucker’s monthly, retired Pennsylvania from its competition for the worst roads in the nation, as no other state could win.
PA has been restored to the competition, and constantly ranks in the top 5 states for worst roads.

So this is about Rod just happening to have ALL that climbing gear with him when he fell into an EXTREMELY LARGE pothole?

My guess is that the roads were getting progressively worse, and taking percautions, Roddney had the climbing gear with him. Sounds like the roads in my home town.

Worst “paved” road I ever drove on was the Penn turnpike, in July of 1978.

As a Pennsylvania native (now a Marylander) I can tell you that political corruption is the problem with Pennsylvania roads. But the Turnpike somehow got fixed and is now up to Interstate standards.

Political corruption is responsible for MUCH more than just the road conditions all over the US…..
