    re: prof danglais
    .
You mean the many times where someone in Pakistan or Afghanistan have shot at NATO troops, then it’s claimed later that they are “innocent civilians” by Karzai or media? You might want to read up on the Third 1949 Geneva Convention, sections 4 and 5. A distinctive insignia visible at a distance is a minimum. The treaties don’t protect those who hide in civilian clothing and that is deliberate in order to protect noncombatants.

Usually when you have any type military action, Civilians will pay a price. Just the way war works.

You should not take those protests too serious. We have a saying in German: “Klappern gehört zum Handwerk!” Which means: “To make noise is part of the work!”
War was, is and will be always cruel.
Just see what happens now in Syria. What Syrian people do to Syrians. And here the USA or Europeans are not involved. At least not officially.

“Protesting drones” as in “we’re drones who are protesting” not what you’d expect., “we’re protesting against drones.”

No matter what the conflict, I’m sure that a large segment of the belligerents population would really rather just go about their lives without the mess their leaders have gotten them into.

Which makes me wonder how we could bomb the crap out of the cities in Germany during WWII?

We figured the poeple in those cities were providing the needed support which produced the German political system and military might which was killing our people.

Could be a new publication opportunity. “Protests for Dummies” but lets not drone on about it.

Actually, the firebombing of Dresden eg was to destroy morale. In fact, it gave the people resolve.
