The Wizard of Id has been enchanting audiences since 1964, but the real wizards behind this comic classic were artist Brant Parker and writer Johnny Hart.
The pair began paving the path to the Kingdom of Id in 1950, when Parker, a staff artist for the Binghamton Press in upstate New York, was asked to judge a high school art contest. Among the entrants was a teenager by the name of Johnny Hart, whose work so impressed Parker that he arranged a meeting.

In Basket ball that might not be such a bad thing.

I once googled the highest score in a hockey game. South Korea vs Thailand … 97 to nothing.
Was the other team even on the ice?

Aye Bruno, could it have anything to do with the Korean’s have some familiarity with ice and the Thai’s don’t. And so they spent all their time on the ice getting their collective back sides OFF the ice?
It seems sports and criminality go hand in hand,or was it that the money goes from hand to hand? And some of those referee calls……you can’t tell me THEY weren’t paid for.

I thought they called them the “Blazers” for another reason – blazin’ marijuana!

Back in the day, I actually knew a member of the 1976-77 Portland Trailblazers, which won the NBA championship that year. His name was David “Corky” Calhoun.
Back in the early 1980s, after his basketball career was over, he trained at the Mobil Oil corporate training center which then sat behind a Mobil station one block north of the Pennsylvania Turnpike exit in Willow Grove, PA, which is about 10 miles north of Philadelphia.
Corky was a University of Pennsylvania graduate, so he did have ties to the area. A really-nice guy, Corky is with ExxonMobil to this day as U.S. fuels marketing coordinator.

You can take the player out of the ghetto, but it seems you can’t take the ghetto out of the player!
