How about “inhospitable,” or “disreputable,” or. . .

Spook must of been a bad boy lately. He’s chained to
    the wall.

Must be a new cell as it has a window view. Spook’s been upgraded.

It could be worse. At least he’s sitting down; Spook could be hanging from the ceiling. Where does he think he is, a country club? He’s got it better than Fink did on Mother’s Day.

what’s the problem? He’s been moved from the dungeon to an upper floor, A Cell With A View. Not hanging upside down
on the wall. Maybe the light hurts his eyes?

Aye and there lies the truth to the axiom “never judge a book by its cover”!

Maybe someone slipped a book into Spook’s swill.

He said “defloorable”, it just got lost in the translation.

Kinky thinks it odd that someone with a good vocabulary and command of the language should be in prison at all. And he’s right: it’s rare.

Ever go to traffic court? Rare to see anybody there who can do much beyond read, write, carry on a half-conversation…or makes much over lower-class wages.

    Go figure.

    @tigre1

It’s quite common that people with a good vocab-
ulary and command of the language land up in pris-
on. Read a bit of history of just about any country.
Such people have a distressing habit of offending
the local Fink by saying and writing things that he
or she does not wish to hear….

As to traffic court, with 20+ years experience I can
tell you that the people who CAN read the signs
[Stop, Speed Limit 30, No Right Turn &c] invar-
iably think it does not apply to them.

    Go figure, indeed!

Cops have a tendency to avoid ticketing nice cars over much. After all who wants to accidentally ticket the Mayor’s friend/brother/golf partner…
