So long as he’s just speaking in symbols, it doesn’t count.

Careful Friar. You don’t want the same thing to happen
to you that happened to the Father in the “Caddy Shack”
    movie now do you?

How many times this week have I said that golf is a four-letter word that usually leads to other four-letter words?? I tell a joke about a preacher who went golfing on Sunday with his wife. At the first hole, he shot and yelled “(G/D-it), I missed!” At the second hole, he yelled the same thing. The preacher’s wife said, “God’s going to get you for that.” At the third hole, he yelled the same thing. All of a sudden, a big black cloud rolled over, a bolt of lightning came out of the clouds and killed the preacher’s wife. A big noise came out of the clouds saying, “(G/D-it), I MISSED!”

I guess, since you said, I won’t; but the moral of today’s strip must be “Monks shouldn’t play golf.”

Our Chaplin serving in Vietnam would cut loose with some expletives that a drunkin sailor would not say.

Remember Father Mulcahy in Mash? He said about vulgar language: I just translate it into latin. It all sounds noble that way.

I’m not sure anybody should play golf. A good walk spoiled and all that.
