Well yes, and no.
The foundation of our democratic republic is rock solid because of the U.S. Constitution. The separation of powers principle is essential stuff to the whole shebang. If (big if) we attempt to outsmart Mr. Madison, Adams, Franklin, Jefferson & Co. we will do more damage than we could ever repair.
The power of America rests with the people — nowhere else. Presidents, congress, and the courts merely exist to serve us. Setting new rules so that the people don’t have to bother with doing their duty is habit forming and self destructive. It’s all up to us, not them. Vote
