That must be the White House and the elephant trying to rebuild what Barry and the Dems have destroyed.

Such single-mindedness as yours at least deserves some degree of admiration, if only it were true. Oh well, can’t have everything I guess!

The GOP is all about “Job Creation”: which is why, in order to deprive millions of people of health insurance, they just deprived 1,800,000 people of their paychecks.

If you are going use the clubhouse and enjoy the benefits of club membership, you have to pay dues; and while you can certainly complain about the way dues are structured in the club, or how the club spends its money, you’re going to have to pay those dues until, following the rules, you can get the club to change. Smashing the club house furniture until the rest of the club gives in to your demands is not a civilized way to operate. You really ought to be expelled for that. If you hate the way the club operates that much, maybe you ought to quit.

Probably not. Assuming this doesn’t last longer than every other shutdown has lasted, things will re-open and the 1 million Federal employees who are still working will get paid in full for October, while the 800,000 who are deemed non-essential will receive partial paycheques.

Given the actual voting and actions of Congress that should be a donkey with that hammer. …

And yet, for all the huffing, puffing, blowing hot air, whining, crying, screaming and just in general childish petulance on the part of the republicans, the PPACA still initiated on time.
    .
Here’s the thing, it had long been acknowledged that our healthcare system and the system that paid for it was broken. That our system was grossly overpriced and under-performing. It was know that something needed to be done about it. We had the republicans sitting on their hands, happy to let their rich friends profit off of the suffering and death of human beings, all n the name of corporate profits and denying coverage for obscure and often made up excuses. Hey if they’re sick enough they’ll die before the appeals process starts and then the insurers won’t have to pay. After you’re dead you’re not their problem. On the other hand you have the Democrats trying to do something. It isn’t perfect, it is very cumbersome and has issues and problems that need to be worked out. But perfect or not, problems or not, at least the Democrats did something. Is that what the republicans are so pi$$ed about? It certainly can’t be over trying to care for human life like they say they are so concerned about.
    .
    Bottom line is this
There was a huge problem with healthcare in this country.
The republicans stuck their fingers in their ears and went La,LA, LA like nothing was wrong and did nothing.
The Democrats tried to do something but couldn’t get enough CONgress-critters to serve the good of the country and many concessions were made which has caused the PPACA to be the monstrosity it is. But the .Democrats saw a need in this country and tried to serve the best interests of all citizens. The Democrats did something!

    The republicans did NOTHING.
    The Democrats did SOMETHING.
The something the Democrats did has great potential but has flaws. But the republicans refuse to work to correct those flaws. They wold rather through out the whole thing and go back to what we had before, or restore this country to the point as if NOTHING had been done. The republicans do nothing but whine and complain ans scream if they are expected to do anything, much less work.
Think about it like this, your only transportation is a bicycle or a taxi to get where you need to go. Near destinations your bicycle is fine. Farther destinations you need to pay for a taxi, which is very expensive. So you buy a used car. As soon as you start driving the car you notice it pulls to the right, the brakes shudder and the engine runs rough. So, if you were a republican you would just throw away the car and do nothing to improve your situation. If you were a Democrat you would start by trying to find someone to help you fix your car’s problems and WORK with that other person to fix what was wrong with it. It would take time but you can do it. And then you have reliable, affordable transportation to take care of your needs and you can be much more productive. You can still ride your bike if you want to but you don’t have to. You have other options to suit the need at hand.

After an exhaustive and impartial assessment of the relative merits of the. competing comments on this excellent cartoon I declare the Democrats the winner. The rwnj’s have completely missed the point, by virtue of either willful blindness or illiterate ignorance. Good job progressives! Oh, btw, the stupidest comment award, so far, goes to conservGov. Thanks for sharing your brilliance.
