    With the federal government increasing every day(paid for with higher taxes) it’s no wonder DC housing is increasing.

    And to think this only started happening four years ago.

    For the much poorer people in D.C. it is a nightmare for housing.

    @ConserveGov

    Total Federal Employment is lower now than it was during any year from 1966-1996, and at no time since 1996 has it been anywhere near as large as it was in the 1960s, though the population of the country has grown greatly. As a percentage of the total population, Federal
    employment is half what it was 50 years ago. http://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/data-analysis-documentation/federal-employment-reports/historical-tables/total-government-employment-since-1962/

    It is only the number of lobbyists that have grown enormously.

    My basis for this comment is a little weak, but I think the proliferation of NGOs that are used by the various governmental organizations as consultants camouflages the true number of “government” employees.

    Now, now…who you gonna believe? A good, moral Chrisshun Ree-publican like Glenn Beck or your own Secular Humanist eyes?

    ( Yeah, they’s secular humanist, they’s part of the human body, ain’t they? )

    As long as someone will pay the price, the price will continue to go up. When the price reaches it’s limit, sales stop.

    House prices and housing starts are up. The stock market is highest its ever been, unemployment down a little. That socialist president is doing better than the Tea pubs ever did.

    @Ms. Ima

    I do so despise your Nazi way of thinking. (You see they are Christian Conservatives who took over and found that human life wasn’t as important as other things. They started just like you. Think about it.) Only after awhile they just murdered them when they eliminated any opposition to their Holy Mission. Why do you think that way? All the warmth of a grave is what you offer them. Whether in a death camp or just slowly dying on the street that is your attitude no matter how you dress it up.

    Why don’t you care about the poor as in helping them not to be so poor? Is it that you just hate them? Contemptible that they don’t measure up to you and your life? And you wonder why so many consider types like you to be dangerous.

    @HOWGOZIT

    You don’t chose to whom you are born from do you? Not the location and definitely not the earning capacity of their parents HOGGIE. But then you should know that, but it seems to elude you. Typical thought process of our home grown goose steppers in expensive suits.

    We’d still have the problems if GOP was in charge, but they would just outlaw talking about it. Ask the voters they are disenfranchising with the Jim Crow laws they are passing.

    Want lower home prices, then you need to find about 10 million carpenters, electricians and plumbers to fill all the empty jobs in this country. Sorry that is where they jobs are.

    So when housing prices were going up in every part of the country, when we were continually being told prices would go up and not fall, when we were told a house was the nest egg one needed to partake of the American Dream, Washington, D.C. wasn’t included in ANY of this upward mobility/housing inflation until Obama became president. I think you need more than therapy, you need a cranial proctologist!
