…there are cracks in the current policy.

The reality is our nation’s aquifers have been in trouble for quite some time. The climate change, drought, etc, are only PART of the problem. Think “sun belt” growth, in deserts never meant to support the populations, and industries, we’ve sited there. It hasn’t just been “climate policy”, but those golf courses and “lifestyle” choices, made in ignorance, but highly profitable, for a very few.

Isn’t that one of them things that free market capitalism is supposed to solve?
    -
Or maybe a tax cut for ‘small’ businesses, like Koch Industries.

I wish we could export some of that water from here where it oozes up from cracks in the roadways.

    Water-Aid Charity
Go to the paragraph that reads:
“WaterAid uses practical solutions to provide clean water, safe sanitation and hygiene education to the world’s poorest people. We now work in 27 countries in Africa, Asia, the Pacific region and Central America.”
Then go to “Select a country” and a drop-down menu appears; choose “New countries”; add U.S.A.

Hopefully a few volunteers from countries that benefited from water aid will payback their help and pop round your neighbourhood to explain to you how to manage scarce resources.

Maybe we should fight a war on ‘drought’? Maybe a war on ‘global warming’? It would be sooooo symbolic and produce results like all the other wars.

Just like when the glaciers melted that covered North America 30,000 years ago?

That’s what wars were for, to reduce the populations of countries. Lately wars are surgical strikes and don’t wipe out generations like past. I know, let’s all ‘hope and change’ our way out of the normal climate fluctuations. That’s worked so well the past 3.5 years.

The communist plan worked so well for the millions of Russians right? Their main products were toilet paper and vodka because the ‘planning committee’ was so adept in providing what people wanted and needed. If you don’t like capitalism move to Cuba where capitalism isn’t used.

It is really past time to stop harking on America. We produce less carbon emissions then either China or India. The more natural gas you use the more it goes down. Ten or fifteen more years we will be lower then a lot of other large countries like Brazil. And no Runnels I will not give a source till you start supply half the sources I do!

The US has been the leader in carbon emissions for a LONG time – China just recently passed us. We should be the leader in reducing them as well.
And fracking to get the natural gas is causing ground water problems and STILL is a BIG source of CO2 emissions.
It is disgusting how many people mindlessly chant ‘USA, USA’ yet say someone else should be the leader when it comes to doing the hard work that is needed. The US should be the ‘shining city’ that other countries copy as a good example, not the fortress that says ‘screw you we got ours’.
