Not to mention IDI (Israeli Defense Industries, recently “privatizing” a little) and other state owned industries there?

She has taken up Kung-Fu since then and the next guy is going to go home in a wheelchair. The things you don’t expect as the highest official and that still happen to you… Look at this for another example:

Probably another place we should have looked at to see what works and didn’t. Maybe we wouldn’t have wound up with the mess that congress passed.

Well said. If we want it, that’s our business. We should be free to choose what kind of health care and health insurance systems we want for our country. Never met, or heard of, a liberal who said anything different.
I have, on the other hand, often heard conservatives declare that what the majority of the people want doesn’t matter, when it is inconsistent with certain ancient opinions, or with the opinions of a properly placed minority.
In all fairness, though, even liberals declare that the majority ought not to have its way in all things. Not when the wishes of the majority are inconsistent with the rights of the individual.

Romney isn’t interested in anything won’t bring him a no-risk profit

When Taiwan many years ago was looking around the world for a medical system model which country’s did they choose? Canada’s. I wonder how many Americans know that?
ARodney said, 11 months ago
ESPECIALLY if it works. The American health care system’s biggest problems are also its biggest profit centers. Any attempt to fix it in order to save American lives, make American companies competitive again, and balance the budget longterm, might impact the profits of a corporation or cause taxes to go up to a level like Israel’s. That the Israeli system is better, more efficient, cheaper, universal, and has much better outcomes, is reason enough for Jack to say he doesn’t want it here.

It reminds me of “The Little Black Bag,” by Cyril Kornbluth. It’s from our future.

When Israel is as large and as populous as America, this may have some backbone. As it is, it’s a case of I’m not going to tell my neighbor he’s doing it wrong when it seems to work for them.
Romney has said all along
-even as he was signing the law on Beacon Hill-that the Mass. health plan is tailored to Mass. and will not work anywhere else. There is such wide disparity among the states WRT demographics, per-capita income, geography, health care infrastructure, etc. There’s no such thing as one-size-fits-all. There needs to be limited federal input designed to REDUCE COSTS, and then allow states to tailor their own plans according to their own needs. How is this so difficult to get?

I wish that were true but Obama is no “Lib.”
