I didn’t believe I ever see a major political party deliberately damage the nation’s economy in order to win an election.
Welcome to the new normal.

Not when Congress passed tax breaks for companies who send our jobs overseas while increasing the taxes on those that do not, as they did under Clinton.

Seriously, folks, no matter what your political affiliation, aren’t you getting sick of the Government acting more and more like a bunch of kids squabbling in the sandbox at a pre-school?
No, I DON’T want to see a bunch of trolls on here saying that “It’s ALL Obama’s Fault”, or “The Republicans are blocking EVERYTHING good in Congress”!EVERYONE in D,C, seems to be equally to blame for the mess we are in now.It seems that 50 years ago or so, Congress, the President, and the various departments would actually try to hammer out a compromise on sticky issues that they were facing.
Nowadays, it seems that all ANYONE, from EITHER PARTY wants to do is whine, yell, pout, and throw a temper tantrum whenever they don’t get everything exactly the way that they want it!
Yes, Republicans do it, and so do Democrats, both just about equally, and quite frankly the American people are fed up with it!

Sorry, but that’s a copout. We have to look at who the real culprits are and not throw the baby out with the bath water. The blanket condemnation is exactly what is giving the lunatic fringe their strength.

It is your job to stay out of the way! Billions spent on “stimulus” for not. Billions spent on green job pay outs, for not. Only the private can create wealth!

Tough to negotiate with someone whose negotiating stance is “I get everything I want, and you get nothing you want; on this I am resolute.”

Funny how “conservatives” criticize liberals for Blaming Bush when they’re still blaming Clinton.

Billions more spent on two wars that only served to destroy our standing in the world, destroy thousands of families here at home, and richen a few political friends of the regime in power at the time.
.
And let’s not forget the billions more spent on tax cuts for the “Job Creators” who didn’t…

I am usually in agreement with you, but not on this one. As I have seen the negotiations go, President Obama usually would put forth a request and leave it to Congress work it out. But since we have the republicans adamant that they will resist anything and everything that will possibly, remotely help the President look good politically, regardless of how bad the people need it, you do have nothing going forward in the government, the republicans won’t allow it. So braindead08 pretty much hit it on the head. He/she just didn’t call it out, but I will, the republican’ts are willing to destroy this country just to regain power. Heck if they do destroy it and depress the people it will be easier to rebuild it in their elitist model than to transform a thriving economy with a motivated middle class.

How about all of the above.

The last administration that I can remember that actually worked with Congress was Clinton’s and he had to work with Newt Gingrich. You would think that with those two being able to reach compromises that ANYBODY should be able to reach compromises. There have been minor compromises between this administration and Congress, but on major issues neither side fashions their point in a way that allows for the other side to find a way to find some kind of accomodation..

Ok how is not collecting money from a private citizen “spent” I mean that is money that is taken out of the equation and redistributed with no thought on market value on that money. That money is taken from someone who EARNED it. But libs see it as money “spent” because they could not take it and spend it as they please.

High unemployment is good for employers. They get better employees for little pay and benefits.
