Nahhh, some states have enacted term limits and they haven’t helped. “Meet the new boss, same as the old boss’ and all that.

After a hiatus, I’m back in the saddle again. Don’t forget that the US Congress is a mirror of the electorate. As Einstein answered regarding genius vs. stupidity, “There’s a limit to genius.” Term limits will not solve the problem.

You guys missed the sign. The Wilson Building is DC’s city, not the Capitol Building. A lot of stuff is happening there

^Ahhh, should have guessed it was something like that. Toles has been drawing a lot of ‘toons of late relating to local DC issues.

But anyway, I have a question:

WHERE did the idea come from that a newly elected public official is going to be any less of a ‘gangster’ than someone who has already served several terms?

I would remind the term-limits-will-solve it-all crowd that Scott Walker is serving his FIRST term as Governor of Wisconsin…and that hasn’t stopped him from turning out to be about as much of a straight-up guy as former New York Mayor, Jimmy Walker ( Google it. )

To think they bothered to drain the swamp that was the District of Columbia- wasted their time.

^No one is thinking about the guy that is always there: the lobbyist. They’re usually former senators, representatives, or people who worked as aides who take jobs from CORPORATIONS. They influence the new guys to keep the status qou, probably by telling them that they could be rich after their political careers if they pass certain legislation while in office.

Make it illegal for anyone in office to be a lobbyist and you solve half the problem. The other half is what to do about citizens united.

^Better idea. Public financing of elections.

^^Still doesn’t get rid of the lobbyist.

Most likely this is about the Gray’s AG nominee.
