Always FLAG spammers. (I follow to their profile and see where they’ve been, and flag them there too!)
Take the ‘Boulder Pledge’; Never deal with spammers, EVER!

Agreed they do not answer emails. We can leave this website and find the cartoons elsewhere. That might alert uclick. What if everyone wrote to uclick and said you have till the end of the month or we’re gone. In keeping with that, I shall drop gomoics on June 30, if they do not keep better control of the spammers.

I have agree with rik. It’s very easy to stop spammers; all you have to is make a minor change to the new member registration process – include that little window with the odd-shaped letters and require new applicants to enter them verbatim..

What good does it do to flag them? does it prevent them from posting again? I sent an email complaining about it just today.

Where did the oil come from in the first place?
You lefties have such a “Disney”-fied view of the natural world; just another “inconvenient truth”.

RE: Spammers: The squiggly letter thing wouldn’t work. You would only have to do that once per day when you register a new username, and it only takes a minute. After that, you’d be free to spam at will. Then they kick that username off the site, and they do it all over again the next day.
The only way the squiggly letter thing would work is if you were forced to type it in before every post, because then they couldn’t cut and paste their ad, and it would be too time consumptive. But I don’t think we’d like doing that. (and besides, I have a tough time figuring out what those letters even are most of the time).
It’s obvious they use a real live human, using a manual method of reviewing flagged posts, to delete the spam. And this person doesn’t spend 24/7 reviewing flags.
But they are getting better. All the spam seems to have been deleted within 5 hours of people complaining. It’s not like a few months ago when it would stay up all weekend.
In short, RICKOSHAY is a conspiracy nut (nothing new there)
BESIDES, the Almighty Federal Government can’t even enforce regulations on oil rigs– you think GoComics can enforce regs on comics?

And you have such a simplistic view of the world and of lefties, starguy. Good luck finding a time when nature pumped oil into the ocean at 20-40,000 barrels a day.

And even if true, it doesn’t mean we can’t do anything about it, nor that we should ignore it.

Am I the only one who noticed that the tar ball washing up onto Heaven is the Earth?
Sort of adds layers of meaning to the cartoon. Make of them what you will.

Let ‘em get away with claiming “dominion”, and they will turn their lust for money and “things” into dominos. When they all start tipping over, it’s “pass the buck” time. There is nowhere to run.

RICKOSHAY: I’m quite familiar with “follow the money”. But in this case you are simply wrong. In this most recent spam attack, GoComics took the spam down within 5 hours. They could have easily left it up all weekend and then used the excuse that no one was in the office. They didn’t.
