There was once a re-written version in a DC comic book, by a villain named Archie Tipple:
    :
“Wave, Britannia, Britannia waives the rules,
And Britons e-e-ever shall be cool!”

    “Rule, Britannia, Marmalade and Jam.
Five Chinese bangers up your a..hole,
Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang !!”

Well, that’s the way WE used to sing it when younger …

After the accuracy of Vic’s relationship with Gladstone the other day, I’m disappointed that you fell for the old error of missing the refrain having an imperative rather than a declarative…it’s “Britannia rule the waves!” with no ‘s’.

    Bad Pab! Bad!

My point exactly ! And for those who don’t sail or know what a Sunfish is… it’s a small sail boat – a far cry from the once great British Navy, whence the saying came from.

The sun fish is also a fish. I blame complacency, foreign intervention and resting on our laurels after the last WW.
