Dusty: Garsh dangit! Professor: What? Dusty: Ev'ry time Ah turn on NPR, they're askin' me fer money! Professor: They do rely heavily on the donations of their members. Dusty: Well, Ah'm puttin' a stop to it, right now! Professor: Dusty, what are you doing? Dusty: Hello? NPR? Put me down fer a million dollar donation... no, no credit cards... Ah'll send ya a check... Miss Overdunne: Don't worry, Professor... they expect his call every fund drive.
NPR is nothing but a big public RIPOFF! Tax dollars being spent to pay the bills while hundreds of commercial stations have to pay the same bills out of their own pockets. I do NOT want my money funding crap I have no interest in listening to. And if it can’t fly on its own, then change format or go out of business. We can’t all have jobs that don’t depend on government dollars for producing a product that you get for free elsewhere.
