Have someone else trapping it for you, and be the one crying together with it after the fact.

And this is why there are so many animals on death-row in the pound.

I wish my shelter program gave out the traps. We have to rent them.$$

TNR has been a successful program everywhere it has been established. It’s been so successful, in fact, that there are places where people are complaining about vermin they didn’t have before.

Feral cats are always put down by shelters; they rarely make good pets unless you catch them very young, and sometimes not then. .

We have to put down a cash deposit, which is returned to us when we return the trap.

That seems reasonable enough; those traps aren’t cheap to buy. I agree a rental is less satisfactory.

Have you tried the independent vets in your community? A lot of vets are (obviously) involved with this program, and you might be able to borrow one (with a deposit) from a participating vet.

    It’s a good program.
