With its tortured perspective, gritty realism, and outlandish urban humor, Derf’s The City has kept an outsider’s beat on current events, trends and out-there aspects of contemporary culture since 1990. Whether depicting the coarse insanity of modern urban life or the ultra-clean realm of the feature’s only recurring character - White Middle Class Suburban Man - Derf uses dissonant humor to speak up for what he calls "the common schlub."

I don´t know about that – no sane person would be playing that horrible mockery of a song.

How do I get this comic to stop showing up in my in-box?

I’d say he seceded from the first floor of the house, but he’s probably lived in the basement for a very long time already.

That’s the elephants. Been living in a dark basement for so long they’ve forgotten life in the light. And their donors didn’t get those no-bid contracts and tax reductions that were to be their “gifts”.
