Reminds me of my youth. There was a park with a concrete tennis court next to mum’s veg garden. She got tired of players “looking for balls” breaking her plants and stealing tomatoes etc. She let nettles grow waist-high just her side of the property line.

Becoming tired of how far to send the ball out, suddenly the individual had become more interested of how far that they’re able to beat the ball into the ground..

Because skunkbush looks so much like poison oak, there are folks in California that plant skunbush around “attractive nuisances” to keep the trespassers away. As a plus, the berries (which are reddish, not white) can be used as a lemonade substitute.
In the areas of california that get winter, it’s easy to tell the two in the fall. Skunkbush turns yellow and the poison oak either loses all green, or (in the western non-coastal part of its range) it goes from green to red.

This was his 4th bad shot. Knowing that bad shots occurred in groups of 3; he realized he was onto his next grouping of 3.

Once again, so far, no work, by this artist, has appeared in Mr. Melcher’s blog (if that changes, the first link will list them). A slightly-different-coloration coloration, maybe-click-to-enlarge image can be found here.

The Stone Breaker is shown, with a framed, different coloration, enlarged image (click-to-humongous image compliments of its Google Cultural Institute page), and described, by its current-location page.

Around the same time, the artist also painted (click both for full-size, preceding links show auction result pages)

both with the same title. The artist’s Wikipedia page and collection (more under Subcategories at each level).
