    If you think you’ve seen this before, you have, just with a different coloration, click-to-enlarge image, found here, and Melcher pseudo-title.

    What follows is a repeat of my comment there, edited for this image, and blog entry, with links opening in a new page/tab.

    Maybe-click-to-enlarge image can be found here, or Mr. Melcher’s blog entry.

    The Dream of St. Martin (link has his Wikipedia page, event described under Legend of Martin’s cloak there, his Catholic Encyclopedia bio) is described here (a paragraph from the full story), along with a different coloration, click-to-enlarge image, and description of a detail image.

    The current-location’s Wikipedia page adds the other participants to the painting’s title. The artist’s Catholic Encyclopedia bio, Wikipedia page (Google translated Italian Wikipedia page has more) and collection (many more under Subcategories at each level).

    Second, of the 2 works (3 times), by this artist, that have, so far, appeared in Mr. Melcher’s blog, to also appear here.

    @Enoki

    I hope Enoki is joking, but just in case someone really has never learned the basic conventions of Christian art (which includes nearly all European artists between the Romans and the 19th Century): a halo drawn around the head indicates holiness. Apparently everyone in that picture is a saint.
