GOOD! If he had fled to “unfriendly” Nations then he should have been shot. But 35 years for putting our Nation’s assets in harms way, was a fair judgement.

The real crime was the lack of vetting and oversight on “who” has access.

    @TexasRocks

    You don’t understand.

Nixon said that the US President cannot lie or commit a crime. If the US president says it, it’s true. If the US president does it, it’s legal. But Nixon was afraid that the Congress didn’t understand Constitutional Law, and resigned.

The Clinton trial confirmed: if the US president says it, it’s true. The Senate voted by a large majority that Clinton never lied under oath, and never did anything that the Chief Executive is not fully authorised to do.

So Nixon was right, and the Senate confirmed: if the US president says it, it’s true. If the US president does it, it’s right.

So, unless you’re an unpatriotic American who rejects our revered Constitution, you know that no US president has EVER lied or committed any crime.

Scooter Libby got 30 months for leaking classified information, then had his sentence commuted.

Yet, Obama is “soft”. Go figure.

A new troll? sounds just like an old troll.

Actually I suspect the administrators don’t mind repeat.
A banned member who goes to the effort of returning, odds are good the actual attacks will be toned down to the edge of the rules.
    .
Besides, it keeps a balance, the site needs at least two trolls on each side of an issue.

Right Wing motto: America, love it or leave it.
Left Wing motto: My country, right ot wrong.
There is a subtle but significant difference.

I don’t have a problem with, and in fact support, the actions of “whistle blowers” in corporate and government circles, BUT! there IS a difference between whistle blowing, and TREASON committed in violation of oaths taken saying you will NOT reveal critical information regarding security, or the safety of our soldiers, sailors, or airmen!

It is notable that the information revealed in the “Pentagon Papers” came out AFTER any threat to our troops was potentially affected, and only blew the whistle on multiple administrations, going back to Ike and before regarding the lies that got us into ’Nam, and the stupidity of the way both Johnson AND Nixon ran that war!

That Manning is now coming out as even “stranger” than originally believed is also of “note”.
