“Ohab has killed the great white economy.”

I’m sure all the harpoons the Republicans had been throwing at it over the past couple of decades had something to do with it.

I didn’t watch the “debate” because my mind is already made up to vote Democratic. On the radio (the Bill Press show) they are skewering Jim Lehrer on his pisspoor job of “moderating”.

Again, speaking of ‘pisspoor’ , catch a clip of O looking down at the lecturn and glancing up at Lehrer with a look of “you’re on my side. make him stop!” LOL

You can’t moderate something when you get shouted down by a bully every time you open your mouth. Ever tried to reason with a screaming football fan ??

Hardly a surprising outcome – incumbent presidents have a history of doing poorly on the first debate. Mitt has been single-mindedly gearing up for this debate for months. The sitting president has a lot of world and domestic issues on his plate.
    .
If this was a university debate, Mitt won on energy and hype. The credibility of his points is another matter (Effect on the deficit of his tax policy for example). Mitt was being Mitt and changing the narrative to fit the audience. If’ it’s bad news, deny the truth. If it’s good news, hammer it home. His energetic/hyper presentation tended to mask the veracity of his points.
    .
Look to what this guy, controlled by his Super-Pacs and extreme right wing ideologues will have him do, not what he says he will do.

The recession started during the Bush admin. Romney would just do more of the same stuff that got us into this mess. You really want an agressive nit wit like Romney as president?

Wow! Still blaming Bush after Obama had four years to fix up this mess. He sent money to China, gave Chinese firms bridge building contracts here in America, spent us $5 TRILLION dollars more into debt and yet you are lined up for another glass of his delicious Kool Aid.

Clearly you and I read different comments from Jase99. I see credit given where credit is due. The prior occupant in the White House, shrubster & cheney, did so much damage to the American economy, and the r/w albatross have done nothing to improve things for any American, except the 1%.

Missed much of the volume as got an overseas call, but, even turning down the volume on the TV left me with the impression that Mitt’s primary advisor was Limbaugh, just shout loud enough, don’t listen to what a moderator or opponent is saying, and scream your prepared rants, even if they’re the opposite of what you’ve been saying in your career, and campaign. Very poor excuse for a “debate” overall.

The senate and congress are behind the whale carcass arguing about the proper way to fund the removal of the whale. Doesn’t matter who wins the election, if our legislature does not start working for the country, we will not move quickly or elegantly out of these problems.
    Respectfully,
    C.
