After watching all of those TV shows about someone who goes over the edge, I think it is best to stay single…

According to the movies and TV, marriage sucks.
Looking at my siblings … I’m inclined to think the opposite.
But happy marriages don’t make for good comedy and/or drama … unless they’re not central to it.

One of the reasons I wrote this

was that there is absolutely nothing in recent media that shows marriage in a positive light.

Probably true for most people. I got married for the first time at 58. After 4 months of dating. To a much younger women. Who asked me. I’m not rich, either. Three years in, we are both crazy-happy.

After 30 years with my husband I found myself widowed about 1 1/2 years ago, and odds are I will not be looking around. The on-line dating scene has been making an effort to jump on the dating Boomer bandwagon, but I’m not sure I could handle the whole dating scene at 58 :-(

Or for anyone of the same age class trying to get re-employed.

Guess that explains why I don’t bother dating anymore. Life is just so much simpler staying single and I’m not going to screw up my Daughter’s inheritance, that is the most important thing to me now.
