I think this is going to backfire on cbama, it was a slap in the face to all the legal immigrants who came in thru proper channels and went thru all the legalities, I know my friend Carlos is ticked off about it, he had to get his green card and take the tests, he also learned how to speak english.

If I understand the President correctly the new policy only offers work permits. Your friend is a citizen now, i guess. That’s different in a lot of ways, chief among the right to vote. So he should not feel bad about it. Also: the more Hispanics in the U.S. are legal residents the better ALL Hispanics will be treated by – for example – the police.

Obama doesn’t really have to change the laws. All he has to do is let the Republicans open their mouths and spout out all their prejudices.

So, Hispanics are all a bunch of law-flouting criminals? You’ve just defined racism Mr. Bunker.

Most of the Hispanic residents of the county in Kentucky where I live work like crazy, 12-14 hours a day in agricultural jobs that almost NO Anglos will even apply for!
And a very small percentage of the crimes in the county are committed by the Hispanics. Usually it’s the drunken, conservative Rednecks that beat their wives, or crash cars into phone poles, or are running Meth labs…

The few that this ruling affects are youngsters who entered the country before they were 16, have been in the country for 5 years or more, and that have no other legal problems.
There are a few down here in Florida that were brought here by their parents when infants, and didn’t realize that they WEREN’T born here until they got the deportation notice, just before they graduated from high school, one as a valedictorian.

Zoid is an unrepentant, proud racist. Anyone here surprised? According to The Atlantic, hispanic crime rates are about the same as for the general population. I tend to trust journalists more than conservative hate-mongers when it comes to statistics. And Romney has only himself and his party to blame for losing the Hispanic vote. The biggest laugh was when he said Obama’s move would make it harder to get real reform passed. Since when has he ever been interested in any immigration reform?

@MortyForTyrant
Surely you jest! As long as any alien is here LEGALLY, that’s great. If not, GO HOME! And LEARN THE DAMN LANGUAGE. And if the kids were brought in illegally, who will watch out for them when their parents are deported?

You’re an idiot too. So spouting truth, justice and the law is a prejudice? I never knew!

So, he bypasses Congress, the Constitution, common sense, and this is supposed to be an advantage for him? The ‘Hispanic’ vote helped get Proposition 8 passed. They tend to be more conservative than some…unless they’re illegally in the country. Wonder how long it’ll be until he ‘grants’ them citizenship? Government by edict…not by rule of law. Welcome to Obamanation.

Do you see a pattern here? Like your comment was stupid, ignorant and racist? There are a few members we can count on for mindless, partisan drivel with an absolute lack of intelligence, thought or regard for reality. You are one of them.

Obama’s action was blatantly political. I can see the Back Room Boys estimating number of votes lost to number of votes gained by his promulgating this action. It was probably figured out months ago and decided not to announce until election day got closer.

Methinks you’re forgetting about Hilary Rosen and her “Stay-at-home moms don’t count!” hysterics. That cost Obama a good chunk of the “female” vote right there.

Women made the most advances in business under the Bush administration. Given they are in business and Obama is anti business, and anti small business at that. I doubt women are so easily bought. As for Latinos. Those that can vote will look at the high unemployment they are experiencing due to Obama’s reckless policies and then we shall see how cheaply a vote can be bought.
