Pulse dial phones still work almost everywhere, but since they quit charging for “Touch-tone” TM service, nobody makes them any more. Some of today’s phones are almost as tough, though.

We got the tree down and all the inside stuff put away the day after New Years, and unplugged the outside lights, too. I took the outside lights down last Friday, when it was in the 50s and calm. Saturday was very windy, so I was glad to be done with the lights already.

Not as easy as it is now. Cell phones were nonexistent or very rare.

I tried to use Opera, but it is missing a plugin, and won’t tell me which one. Firefox works fine. My computer is fast enough that I don’t need the fastest browser.

Definitely Fosdick, Tracy was handsomer. Also, the hat isn’t yellow.

We got ours the day after Christmas last year. LED lights were preinstalled. Half price, and it looks just fine a year later.

If they were any longer, you would get sick of them much sooner.

I wasn’t born until the following February, but I still remember the blackout curtains and burning corncobs for heat. After the war, we got an oil stove. No basement, so not a furnace.

My shoulders won’t handle weights any more, but I still go through the motions, along with 2.5 miles on the treadmill, about 1/3 running (slowly) and a bunch of other stretches. Results: I can shop all day without dropping, and take stairs in stride. Totally worth the 1 to 2 hours a day.

I’ve been retired for almost 13 years, but the most common subject of my dreams is being at work. They seem so real at the time, but when I wake up, I realize the places I worked looked nothing like my dreams. My dreams add a bit of spice to an otherwise dull life. :)
