I so HATE those things! I didn’t know they existed until I replanted my tree with a bag of new soil! They are as bad as fruit flies!!
I still have some of the soil left and before I have to use it again, I’m going to bake the soil in the oven for a while to kill them!!

You just said what I feel! Hubby last night, made hamburgers on the grill, and I did fries in the air fryer. HE did WHAT YOU SAID!!! Oh, EWWWW!

My father went through the Depression, also, and the same reason he kept EVERYTHING! Only ONCE was I able to talk him into letting go of legal tax books since he wasn’t doing taxes any more, at the time.
I sure feel for you. That’s how I feel about shopping. I know it’s not the same, but still, get the heeby jeebies when I know it’s shopping time. LOL
