The focus on ‘what if their father is…’ is kind of odd. The teacher covered that. She didn’t specify father, or even “mom or dad” only parent or guardian.

As far as questions like working more than one job, anything like that is easily enough handled by telling the kids, ‘any questions or problems, come see me at my desk’.

The kids are old enough for this to be a “teachable moment” in a lot of good ways; breaking down gender stereotypes, getting a glimpse into different lifestyles, taking pride in whatever kind of work you do.

Especially relevant today would be touching on the circumstances of living in times where work may not be easy to find, and that being inbetween jobs isn’t necessarily something to be ashamed of.

    Unless…

    …she only paid a deposit.

…she plans to stop payment on a check.

…she plans to contest the charge with her credit card company.

IF off panel Tiffany in anyway agreed or implied that she would provide a pirate theme, she’s toast. In fact Betts could even ask for restitution for the cost of materials and Gunther’s time in making their costumes.

Verbal contracts can be binding. We did not see the conclusion of their conversation, so there’s no way to say for sure who has the upper hand there.
