I keep thinking that’s Irritable Belle’s outfit has a cutout “boob window” like the Star Trek characters Lursa and Bator.

Almost every nutcracker I’ve ever seen is dressed as a military officer. She ought to consider the benefits of marrying one. Steady employment, he’s gone quite often on training/deployment, and then there’s the insurance and healthcare benefits. she cold do worse.

I wondered at Weenus’ frazzled appearance also and asked Jon Lemon – “Rabbits” cartoonist. He replied:

“Weenus has always been a character who has grown progressively weary of the realities of the world. If you read back into the archives, you’ll notice he’s the only character who drinks alcohol. He’s also keenly aware of his diminutive size and optical disability, hence his disenfranchisement. I wish I could give you a better answer but the truth is I had a long chat with the fine folks at Universal|Uclick about the overall direction of the strip a few months back and they asked me to develop the characters so that they become more individual. One obvious way to show that was to change their visual appearances, hence the frayed toaster cord. I hope it hasn’t been too much of a leap for you.”

It’s interesting to know…that Dos Equis Man was an uncredited redshirt on the original Star Trek episode “The Corbomite Maneuver”. He LIVED.
