When I first moved in, my back neighbor was retired OGE and he had a lightening rod on our share cyclone fence; I don’t know how many times the rod took the lightening hit, but after his death her family decided it wasn’t needed abs removed it … yes about 9 months later, lightening hit the wind turbine and everything electrical in house including wiring was wiped out. I felt awful for her …
“My” feral cats get under my deck – they feel safer there than in the igloo. The storm finally hit around 03:30-04:00; by then rain only.
My Dad said when he was 92 that he closed his eyes and 6 months passed! I had thought perhaps time was like it was when we are super young and takes forever to pass – very naive at 53! Now I think he was being kind and understating time’s speed!!
Let me go a little further back to party lines and at least one nosy neighbor compounded by no dial … operator calls only! :-) You are are correct about being hard to identify humor or sarcasm in text. Since I use a photo, no question that I’m older! :-D
We dodged the bullet – not sure about today – it looks like the whole state is going to get this one. I went to sleep listening to thunder. Lights didn’t even flicker once and cable held the whole time. I wept over the 4 month old baby and the man who saved his niece and nephew, and died in the process; so much for the “fake climate change and weather extremes” – we see it up close and personal! I’m glad you and the pup were safe!
A real friend with constructive criticism will not do it publicly; it will be in private. The person you describe is not a friend in my world!
