A small town in the American Southwest... everything in the desert is designed to prick you, wound you or eat you. What better metaphor for 21st century Earth? Prickly City is a comic strip about the friendship between Winslow, a coyote pup, and Carmen, a straight and narrow kind of kid. Prickly City offers a conservative perspective on political and social events within an ongoing storyline. As Carmen might say, "We may not be correct but we will always be right."
Their high jinks provide endless laughs as Winslow gets into trouble and Carmen follows. Join Carmen and Winslow for their adventures in the desert!

Who has failed to get re-inaugurated once reelected?
KPOM said, 5 months ago
@uh-oh
No one, as both FDR and Lincoln lasted a month after their final re-elections. However, in general second terms are lackluster, even for otherwise successful presidents such as Reagan and Clinton. Sometimes they are disastrous (Bush II, Nixon).

Well, it’s simple. The first time you have made a massive effort to build an organization and “movement” from scratch to realize a nearly impossible goal. In the second, you hopefully have some expertise and experience and money. Still capturing a goal, but a little less unexpected.
And really you’re comparing FDR’s dying and Lincoln’s assassination as points about lackluster 2nd terms?

Second inaugurations are like second weddings…… they exemplify the triumph of hope over experience.

But remember, FDR was reelected three times.

The people are called “Maya” (both singular and plural). Mayan is the language of the Maya and an adjective form of “Maya.” There is no such word as “Mayans.”

No one ever elected Grover Norquist, at least not to public office.

The Maya never predicted the “end of the world” for the end of their calender. Only Anglo New Agers made that mistake.

Nor George Soros, at least to my knowledge. What’s your point?
Potrzebie said, 5 months ago
I hope he gets a Junior Supreme court judge to administer the oath this time, so there aren’t any flubs.

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. What do you get for three and four?

Actually, the disasterous one was Clinton. He passed all the bills that got us into the mess.
