Isn’t that how they start those jars of screws they collect ?

Odd how the appliance still works without those leftover bits.
Plods with Beer ( did I mention beer? )

Yes it is. ‘cuz when you see that lone screw, you remember you took it out of the deepest darkest recesses of said appliance and there’s no way in heck you’re going to take that apart again.

I must be an over achiever. I always have at least two.

It’s better than being one screw short.

Then what kind of a ‘Plugger’ does that make my brother-in-law—he always had parts left over when he fixed an automobile. It ran just fine but there was always something left over.

Any Plugger knows those are called “pocket screws.”

Had a neighbor who added a couple bolts to the jar while her husband was taking a break from working on their 20-year-old washing machine (it was the ’60s, things lasted). He finally gave up on reassembling and she got a new one.

Or one screw loose.

I have lots of screws loose! Uhh, I mean loose screws……

Yeah, when I would fix my car in the past there were a few bolts and screws left over.

My Plugger dad used to take apart any new appliance so he “would know how it worked when it broke.” Mom didn’t mind, but it drove me nuts.

Essentially, our crew used to do the same thing to each other when we had something on the workbench.. Not so much tomfoolery during wartime, though. Things were serious with lives on the line.

Then I know who not to trust with repairs.

Last time, I had one screw less than I should have… still don’t know what happened to it. :-s
