    Who writes checks anymore? Debit cards work at the doctor’s office also.

    some pluggers don’t have them. I personally only use my debit card. Only write a check if I have to. I think in the past year i’ve written only 7-8 checks and that was for my lawn guy & for a birthday gift.

    I pay all my bills online too. Cheap/easy and faster than the Post Office for sure. Nothing ‘lost’ in the mail

    Nope, almost 100% utility and doctor’s bills.

    What’s a co-pay, anyway?

    I am a Plugger, I don’t write checks, and refuse to use Debit Cards. I do, however use credit cards.

    Considering how much of it the government’s been pinting the last few years, you’d think people would use cash for a measly $20 co-pay.

    Either you’ve never had health insurance, or (like me) Medicare covers your co-payment. Anyway, a co-payment, or co-pay, is a nominal up-front fee for medical services, with the rest covered by insurance. (And it really is nominal. $20 is probably less than a tenth of what the whole visit would cost you otherwise…and that doesn’t include lab tests, meds, etc.)

    Direct deposit of your pay is mandatory at a lot of workplaces — it’s to their advantage as well as yours. What do have against direct deposit?

    Don’t worry. That doctor’s not going to starve to death.

    @DevilsNight

    You should go direct deposit. It is an extra hassle for them to account for your check and they like efficiencies to reduce their costs. Banks will offer extra interest for a direct deposit account.
