    And thus were born pocket protectors! Remember the days of leaky ball point pens? Himself hardly had a shirt that didn’t have the telltale blue stain. Fountain pens? Good grief, Earl, where did you find that relic?

    @LuvThemPluggers

    You can still buy them in any stationery shop or supermarket.

    I still use one. I’m left-handed and they are – oddly enough – easier to use than a ball point. Very few people borrow it, and they always give it back.

    How did this stain get here?

    I use a fountain pen. I make and sell them, too! http://www.panterapens.com (I hope it’s okay to share a “commercial” link, since it’s on-topic in this case.)

    Fountain pens aren’t a relic. They are very niche though, sort of like comics nerds.

    They STILL make pens that leak. And somehow those are the ones I always buy. The thing that I absolutely LOATHE is when I write something and then discover my fingers are ink-stained. x@#$%!

    You could always go with the kind of pen that you dip into an inkwell. Get it in an art supply store.

    The theme of the day is old folks and leaky pens. See today’s Argyle Sweater.

    The pen leaking in a shirt pocket.

    That’s pretty common.
