Yes, but you are far more likely to catch a cold or flu on a plane than in a hospital. The british did a study some time back and surprise, surprise, found out that people spread colds and flus on fights…

It’s hard to think of an environment that would be easier to spread germs in than a group of people crammed in like sardines into a flying pipe with a minimum of airflow. Sneeze. Cough. not to mention handling the same things time and time again. Not long a go a person with resistant TB flew, with predictable results. That goober should have been charged with attempted murder.

My worst respiratory infections always happened when I had to fly. Thankfully I no longer have to do the long flights anymore.

That said, my aged auntie lost her licence at last in a superstore parking lot…hit the accelerator instead of the brake and took out a row of shopping carts. The local policeman had been in her Sunday School class years before. He said, “Now Miss Jean, you know you’re gonna have to find a driver after this.”

That cop was a real humanitarian. I threatened to pull my dad’s license and he vowed to never speak to me again! Fortunately, he stopped driving at night…no further problems, rest his soul.

At my funeral, the spouse will stand up and tell the crowd every thing she considered stupid that I did all the decades we were married.

At my uncle’s funeral his daughter spent a minor eternity explaining he had been sick.
Most of us had already figured he must have been sick if we were sitting at his funeral.
    Here lies Opal Pickles
    Gone before her time
And her wit like Donald Rickles
    Now in a warmer clime.
She’d be with us now, you know
    Yes, she’d still be living
If it all she didn’t blow
At a sale Wal-Mart was giving

wish I could get my dad to give up his license or keys. The one time we took the keys he called the cops on us and the officer said as long as the state considered him able to drive by renewing his license (5 months before) then we had to give him back his keys. We told the officer, ok, but when he kills himself or someone else, don’t come telling us he was a danger and should not have been driving. Dad will be 90 in April.
