    I seem to remember Phoebe making a bunch of friends last time. She’ll be fine. And the lake monster and Marigold can catch up with each other.

    For Phoebe weird is normal. What’s wrong with being weird anyhow? My horse seems to delight in being weird.

    But she is normal and weird. Depends on who you meet.

    To be normal. To be “one of the crowd”, to “fit in”, to be indistinguishable from the masses. To be a copy, a unit, a clone.

    No thank you!

    Perish the thought! Who wants to be normal anyway?

    Yes, Marigold, it’s true: some days you just can’t say ANYTHING right to humans! Especially when they’re nine-year-old girls. I remember having a complete meltdown when I found out which eighth-grade classroom I was going to be in. EVERYONE I knew would be in the other one. Worlds collided; rain fell up; cats barked and dogs meowed… well, maybe the tall blond Italian boy I developed crush on in my class helped a little. Yep, you’ll be fine, Phoebe. ;-)

    Dana, I love Phoebe’s expressions, especially when she’s upset. I have to believe your inner child is alive and well and having a wonderful time in your head.

    I never did see the point to that movie.

    One can fit in and still be idiosyncratic. In fact it is normal. Abnormal is not fitting in anywhere.

    @Night-Gaunt49

    Or making your own molehill, declaring it normal and waiting for everyone else to catch and make a new mountain out of it. That’s reserved for the truly brave and most of them end up watching the rest of the world pass by ignoring them.
