Peanuts did come to a point when it was 1980.

Relax, Snoopy — it’s 2012 now. We probably have a lot more veterinarians nowadays to take care of you when you’re sick. The most important issue, of course, is whether your current health plan will cover any of them!

If memory serves me, it was Charlie Brown that ended up in the hospital in 1980, not Snoopy.

Not to worry. By now, he’s dead.

Has there ever been a series in which Snoopy was ill? I know about the vaccination one, but not really ill, right?

Let’s time-warp back to 1980 and see if that was true.

Snoopy did stay at the vet’s in 1963 I believe. And it was for a few days at least. I don’t recall what the problem was.

One time he was going to have surgery on his knees, but they realized that dogs don’t have knees. I forgot the date, though.

From which year is it? Was there a weather forecast for 1980 in that newspaper, too?

Vets are SO expensive these days. I dread my next visit for an annual checkup for my 2 Maine Coon boys. Vet will probably want to clean their teeth again (does this every year) and will charge $400-$500 for both guys, AND probably pull out a couple teeth (gingivitis is common in Maine Coons).

Anybody know the original publish date for this one? I think it would be interesting to know when they first ran.

It didn’t turn out that way – because the government and politicians didn’t meddle in the affairs of veterinary suppliers (as they have been doing with human medical care since at least 1973 and the HMO act all the way through the current time).
