“The Majortity of Amercians are agianst any strike agaisnt Syria.. NBC News is source.”

Yeah, well the majority of Americans want stronger background checks on gun purchases & a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, too. NBC News is the source.

Tigger, you mean with the chemicals Reagan sold him? O’Donnell had some good data on that tonight.

Appeasement with Hitler didn’t work for Chamberlain in 1938 and it won’t work with tyrants using WMD in 2013. Sometimes you need to take a tough stand in the interests of World order and decency. Of all the misguided wars and military conquests that have gone on over the years, and then when a military deterrence is needed, the U.S. led International community wimps out – largely it seems for political reasons.

Obama and his spokespersons are about the only ones who have it right. Limited military intervention for purposes of deterrence against International crimes against humanity, and seek public support because of the controversy. This is no time for appeasement with a tyrannical dictator.

Syria isn’t a danger to us. Why would we make a symbolic cruise missile attack that accomplishes nothing against a non-threat? Iran is the danger. If you libs want to grow a pair, suggest lobbing a few into Iran. That would really establish your manly, warlike bonafides.

And how is Iran a threat to us?

Iran may pose a greater (potential) threat to ISRAEL than Syria does, but the Syrian government is currently killing Syrian civilians.

    1. A Cruise missile attack is not symbolic.
    2. Allowing a tyrannical dictator to use WMDs against innocent people is a threat to world peace, order, and decency.
    3. If you don’t think the use of WMDs doesn’t warrant deterrent action, don’t get self-righteous about courage.

    1. A symbol, by definition, represents something else. A cruise missile attack will be a symbol of international condemnation. It certainly won’t be the actual thing of conquering/occupying/destroying Syria.
    2. How will a symbol stop a dictator from threatening world peace, order, etc.? Make him afraid? When he knows already the attack is only a symbol and not an actual threat to him?
    3. Are we the world’s police? Are we responsible for symbolically lobbing bombs onto whoever we think is using weapons we don’t like? Again, Syria is no threat to us. Iran is the only direct threat to American lives.

I’m sorry about the self-righteous comment. I thought all liberals were pacifist eunuchs. My mistake.

Again, HOW is Iran a “direct threat to American lives”?

(Unless, of course, we “preemptively” invade them, in our capacity as World Police.)

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. As you sow, so shall you reap. It’s an immutable law of nature. Only fools ignore it.

Iran has been on the US State Dept. list of “State Sponsors of Terrorism” since 1984. It supports al-Qa’ida which killed over 2000 Americans on 9/11. It kills our soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq. It sabotages all efforts for peace in the Middle East. It is behind or supports much of the lethal terror attacks throughout the world. It calls us the Great Satan and threatens to annihilate us. Maybe we should take them at their word and take their deeds seriously.

The Saudis had as much to do with 9/11 as Iran did (and much more than Iraq), but the Saudis are our buddies, right?
