Today’s comic is influenced by Walt Disney and the old story “Snow White & The 7 Dwarfs.” In the original story they either had no names or different ones.

What is lent, or borrowed, is ‘on loan’. Loan itself is not a verb, unless things have changed in the last eighty years!
