Still lots of money for multi-million dollar golf vacations tho.

He’s like a little kid who breaks the toys after being grounded so no other kids can play with them.

It costs $18,000 a week for the tour guards.

How RepubliCon: grouse about the expense of government services and grouse when the services are eliminated. But the point’s not good government is it? The point is their government.

I have defended the President’s golf outings even at the estimated cost of a million(s?) dollars game. I thought he should be able to take an occasional break from the White House and do something normal. If the tour guards were not laid off, (doubtful they were-they’ll just find some other duties for them, useful or not) then I don’t see where any money is saved. This appears to me to be nothing more than a cheap political ploy so that the White House can say “Look at us! The sequester has had an effect here, too!”. Not that you would really give a bleep, Mr. President, but you have lost one supporter of your expending public funds for your leisure activities.

Umm.. The White House is immune to the sequester.

The irony is, if he DIDN’T cancel the White House tours, Hannity, Beck, and Limbaugh would be all over him talking about how wasteful it is for the ’Murican taxpayer to have to pay for a bunch of snot-nosed little liberal brats to see where their head free-stuff giver lives while the rest of the ’Muricans had to suffer with the sequester cuts.

    Now you stop that!

Let’s not confuse our “facts based” liberal friends with facts.

The haters are going to hate no matter what Obama or the Democrats do. They ignore facts, too.

I remember back when you could tour the White House when the President was there. I went with my folks when Eisenhower was in. The only security was two marines stand beside a blue curtain. I of course was the wandering child. I went right behind them and up the stairs. I was now on the second floor, yes the residences. I was just walking down the hall when this gentleman came out and looked down at me. He said “Well hello son and where are you going?” I said “Seeing the White House.” He said “Well welcome, son” He gestured at some captain who nearly went into a panic. He said “Escort this young man to his parents, they are probably looking for him” The captain barked “Yes, Mr. President” He escorted me downstairs right past two very surprised security marines. Of course there were my parents explaining to the guide, how tall, how old when I came up with the captain. “Are you looking for him?” he said. They asked where was he? He said talking with the President.
We went back later and the curtain was now a door.
I like how they cant fix finances but have time to golf at private clubs on our tax dollars. But remember it could be worse.

They represent us the citizens. The government sometimes looks at us like children. Step children at that.

“Why do you think he chose to close the White House to children?” Perhaps he thought the Tea Party would make up $#!t about him fondling children’s Easter Eggs. You better let your handlers know you’ve got a great new lie to tell.:-O

The White House is still open for tours. You just have to know how to play Chicago-style poltics – slip half a million bucks to Organizing for CrimeMerica, and you’re in!
