It always causes current “conservatives” extreme pain to actually read the words from that document they feign to praise, while burning it. The minority DOES have “rights”, that should be protected, but not the right to abuse the majority with poorly pursued “rules”, consistently abused.

Funny how Harry had no problem with the rule for the previous 8 year administration.
    Hypocrite!

It was Thomas Jefferson that instituted that rule and it has been in effect until Harry Reid, a political midget by comparison decided to end it.

No matter what you do or say, the sheer tonnage (no offense to certain fat New Jersey governors……) of the filibustering of Obama appointees is simply unprecedented in American history. How much would change if Obama, with the SAME politics and the same appointees, was not our first bi-racial president, and therefore subject to such ignorance and bigotry upon that score? I wonder.

I still say it’s not about race. It’s about partisan politics. If Obama was of only European ancestry, the BS spewed by the pundits and their followers would be different, but the underlying vitriol and hate that drives it would remain the same.

The ACA was passed pursuant to the rules in both Houses of Congress. No subterfuge. You lost, Jack. Stings like a bitch, doesn’t it? Hey, we had elections stolen from us, in 2000 & 2004, and we’re not sniveling like the right does.

Indeed it bothered me too. Made me think he was colluding with his brethren in the Republican Party. Even with this it was very narrowly changed. Such a thing as a “super majority” isn’t what it use to be for many decades. It was only changed a short time before. Never liked it since it allowed for more crap to get through.

JFK didn’t live long enough to get it passed you mean.

Bork did have outstanding qualifications for the KKK legal arm but it would have been terrible as a Supreme Court Justice.

There were plenty of disinformation tactics used. The Bush administration took real information then disregarded it or altered to fit their scenario to attack.

Unfortunately the TP’s come from the fringe area both politically and the parts of the country they live in and elect to send to bollix up Washington DC. So until the Republican party can purge them they are at the fanatic fringe’s beck-and-call.
