As editorial cartoonist for The Journal News in New York, Davies cuts to the chase on every major issue, deftly penetrating the spin and obfuscation to show readers what’s really at the heart. His caustic wit combines with a strong moral sensibility to render the complex comprehensible.

O where, O where have our public works gone?
O where, O where can they be?
With the taxes cut, they now are long gone.
O when, O when will we see?

The guys who erected the sign are Big Business (Big Oil, Big Coal etc.). The guy on the rooftop is small business. He doesn’t have a lobbyist. He only has President Obama to help him out, again, like with the tax cuts for small businesses as part of the stimulus package. We read a lot about big companies threatening their employees with dismissal if they don’t vote GOP. But we never hear that from small business owners. They know the score, they know who’s their champion…

here’s some news for you climate change worriers…God built in earth weather/climate cycles…it goes from ice age to jungle age….warmer weather could be good for farming areas not now farmed…to produce food and fiber for good use for humans.
P.S. passing big spending big government big “projects” won’t stop the cycles…..it will only help marxists gain control of governments…..to change the Land of Opportunity and Better Living to retrograde communist slum societies. Think East Berlin. Think Moscow stores with very little on the shelves to sell. Think topdown poverty for all but the governing elite.
(I vote NO—-no government “solutions” that cause worse problems, historically)

Howie, your climate change ignorance was out of date twenty years ago. It’s past just stupid and ignorant now, it’s downright offensive in the face of such death and destruction. Educate yourself. Your entire “conservative” movement is becoming irrelevant because you simply don’t accept facts as facts, and it’s becoming clear to every rational person in this country.

So it would have been great to let the ozone layer go, because it’s just one of those “God built in earth weather/climate cycles?”
…………………………
“Because of measures taken under the Montreal Protocol, emissions of ozone-depleting substances are already falling. Levels of total inorganic chlorine in the stratosphere peaked in 1997 and 1998. The good news is that the natural ozone production process will heal the ozone layer in about 50 years.”

Climate change is real. Man can’t cause it. Man can’t stop it.

explain to me how a carbon credit could have stopped this hurricane? Mind you this was not the 1st time such a thing has happened.

I really think that as disappointing as it was to not see the climate issue come up, and Sandy is a good reason why it SHOULD have, I think the reason was that given how the “whack doodles” went after “Benghazi”, the distraction of actually addressing any issue requiring intelligence would have “lost” too many of the public.

Seriously, vote for me and we will be able to control the climate. I’ve got it all figured out how moving money into the proper hands will make it all better. I will spend your money on controlling the climate. I will spend what I skim on adapting to the changes, but that’s just me. I herd dinosaurs, and I approve of this message.

A carbon credit is not going to stop a hurricane (as you well know). But over time, it will help (somewhat) in reducing the heating of the Earth, which will reduce the frequency and intensity of cyclonic storms as well as glacial melt and acidification of the ocean. Get it, now?
