If he had any respect for the Constitution he would’ve retired, and taken Thomas with him.

Very funny cartoon! And learning that Scalia only gets his news from right-wing sources explains a lot of the startling ignorance of facts he’s been surprising us with in recent oral arguments.

I thought it was common knowledge that True Believers all knew that Bush was a real dude with policy positions. And don’t forget Chaney, or Rove, or the Koch brothers, or Halliburton. They are all real, and all the embodiment of evil among the True Believers. Art transcends time and ideology.

Words have meaning when spoken or written in the Constitution and the meaning conveyed does not change, even though the common understanding of a word can change over time.

At church, we had an old songbook with the hymn “Hark, an Awful Voice is Sounding.” And since religious terminology is usually so old, there are a lot archaic words, once commonly used, that would set people howling today.

Like Thomas would have a say (he never says a word).

“The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn’t exist.” Great movie line from “The Usual Suspects” and true for today’s culture.

While I have little affection for Mr. Scalia, I do not consider him as ‘corrupt’ as I do Thomas who never once reclused himself even when the SCOTUS was reviewing cases on which Liberty Consulting, a lobbying firm for whom Thomas’s wife works making over 600k, was working. Mr. Scalia’s duck hunting trips with Vice President Cheney during the Bush Administration were inappropriate, but did not have the financial taint of Mr. Thomas’s relationship, through his wife, with a conservative lobbying firm. It is an “offal” example of what is happening to our SCOTUS as well as the congress and white house.

Remember when marriage was a prearrangement between families when the principals involved were still children, and they were given absolutely no say in the matter?
I mean, if we’re that desperate to go back to “original definition”….

Oh, he’s quite corrupt as well. He golfs with the people for whom he helped decide the Citizens United decision.

You’re being unfair. They went hunting. Cheney did not shoot him in the face. Scalia voted that Cheney did not have to reveal the attendees of the “energy summit”, whose conclusions did not even include the word “conservation”.

    Cause and effect?

Satan actually does have a vested interest in putting forth his brand of political policy. Contrary to the suggested practice of pitchforkery, he is actively pursuing an agenda of a one-world currency, a one-world governing body, and ultimately a one-world religion. It is so obvious one could only miss it willfully.

Fail on so many levels. First, why should someone who believes in a personal devil, with or without the red suit, horns and pitchfork, be taken seriously about anything he says? What’s next? Unicorns? Leprechauns? Do you understand the concept of myth?

Second, do you have any evidence for the existence of Old Scratch, or are you just babbling religious babble?
Third, if you think you can blame the devil for the evil in the world, and not the people doing the evil, then it sounds to the rational people as if you are simply trying to excuse yourself from doing anything about that evil.

I’d call Scalia a Neanderthal but, that would demean their accomplishments.
