I guess maybe majority opinion, even though it has superior upper body strength, might benefit from not forcing its will upon and thus victimizing the minority. Unless it is REALLY popular and there is a mandate, of course. Then it’s just got to be, and stupidity can’t be allowed to say no. It’s really for their own good, you know, and they will love it once they find out more about it.

My question is: which comedians have been doing “rape” jokes lately?

Actually, the filibuster also killed a transportation bill and a juvenile crime bill, both of which were scheduled to be debated and voted upon after the abortion bill.
    []
Given the seriousness of those two bills, Perry has every reason to be upset.
    []
We Texans have further reason to be upset in that the special session which will have to be called to get those bills voted on will take more $$$ out of our pockets.

And there is the upper body strength. Imagination is a made-up word. We are sentient beings, whose major functions are awareness and ego. Quite often, we identify with intelligent views, and attach ego to them. Even though they are actually against us, we are able to rationalize our superiority and know that we are the messengers and not the intended recipients of that intelligence. We really are quite humorous to watch, preferably from a distance.

Apparently, there was an incident involving Daniel Tosh that cause a recent stir. Here’s Patton Oswalt’s take on it (“rape jokes” are the third of his three topics, but the piece is probably best read as a whole):

Darren Blair: If they were so important, why weren’t they taken up before the closing of women’s health clinics?

Just part of keeping women in low-paying jobs with no career path so they can’t compete with the upper-body types.

The last few days of the main legislature session here in Texas are a flurry of activity as people rush to get bills introduced and moved through committee so that they can get up to a vote.
    []
I’ll have to look, but what probably happened was that these three were among the last ones out the gate, and so got tacked on at the end in the order in which they were presented for a spot on the docket.
    []
In other words, the placement of the three bills was likely largely a fluke.

If you examine others and do not recognize yourself in them, perhaps you believe yourself to be a god viewing ants. I do that quite often and have to be reminded that I’m really no different or better, just in another circumstance at the moment. The self is an illusion. It is all awareness. We bring nothing. We take nothing away.

I’ve heard it depends on whether you are on the winning side, or if you are a mind-numbed conservative unable to adapt because all your creative ideas are programmed at birth. Or so I’ve heard.
