Terrorists perform an act. Repressive laws get passed. Terrorists perform an act. Repressive laws get passed, ad infinitum. That is the intent of terrorism. The terrorists have been winning a little bit at a time.

Come one Bors, I’m sure your slurp hero, Rall, has something much more disgusting to say than this. You can do better.

“One caveat: we have to ask the NRA if the Second Amendment doesn’t guarantee our right to have pressure cookers, but even if it does, we need to ban all imports from Spanish-speaking and European countries.”

At the very least, we need to start saying things like “Freedom Harlem” and “Freedom Rice”. I think I’ll have “Freedom Food” for lunch today.

Unless those repressive laws include gun controls or background checks. Mustn’t overstep.

It would take at least two years for Congress to get around to considering banning pressure cookers let alone getting them banned. Besides, the Spaniards would just rename “pressure cookers” as “compression boilers” and we would have another useless law on the books.

I like this comic. We should be smarter about knee-jerk reactions after what we’ve been through in the last decade. Even with Homeland Security (I still cringe at the word “homeland”), aggressive policiing and surveillance, this kind of violence is still possible anywhere at any time.

So then, Iran, North Korea, China, Russia, Pakistan, India, the UK and even (gasp) Canada are terrified conservatives by this measure (as is every other country with a military, border security and laws)

There were more cops at the marathon per square mile than there are in N Korea but they couldn’t stop it. My question is why was this unattended stuff covering the bomb allowed to sit there for so long?

Believe it or not, Here in Canada the Conservatives have pushed forward wire tapping bills, increased military, prison sentencing, building more prisons, tightened boarder security.

They now sit between 28% – 30% in the polls.

The UK on the other hand enjoys a reputation for being a model for future police state,

All things are relative, but yes, militarized borders are fear driven.
    .
As is hate, correlation is not cause, but the coexistance of the two deserves examination.

This is so inappropriate right after this tragedy. The blood stains haven’t been cleaned from the street yet and you are politicizing it with your tea party baloney.
