That’s okay Bernice, you have time to drive back home and change clothes.

Job interview failed: anyone with fractional brainpower would have used the store phone to call the police to open the car. This is a fairly common occurrence and store owners deal with this all the time.

But that would be sensible, which would mean a short and uninteresting story line.

    Kind of like life itself.

Well, the station hasn’t burned down YET, but the picture I put up the day before yesterday of Bern heading for the ground kinda came true. Even a broken clock is right twice a day ( that is, if it is a 12 – hour clock)… :)

Saint Louis Fire Department is forever responding to calls for “keys locked in a running automobile”. Happens about once a week.

Several of you mentioned carrying a spare key strapped to the car somewhere. Good call.

If I was one of the people interviewing Bernice for this internship, once she turn up like that and explained why, I would recommend her on the spot for the position. Even though to us it seemed like this ordeal lasted for four days, it was really only about five minutes their time before Bernice solved the problem. She demonstrated planning and preparedness. BBB

That does it. I am going out today to get two spare keys (car and wallet). And pack a change of change of clothes if I ever need the former. As well as deodorant to offset the minutes of panicky sweatiness before I remembered I have spares.
