The last time I saw a real live pay phone was 1998

If you’ve noticed, the pay phone has been sabotaged….or simply disconnected due to lack of public use. Right now, Bernice and Delta are exceedingly vulnerable to criminals. It matters not about the whys and wherefores. They should always have a backup plan for such situations. They should at least have a shrill whistle to attract attention to themselves should anyone nearby get obnoxious or suspicious.

From perspective’s glance, that’s a long, lonesome, uncertain mile to the phone….

That is so true. People are especially prone to making this mistake when they’re young and going out on their own for the first time. They’re so giddy with the excitement of finally having a taste of independence that they completely forget that that independence comes with a certain amount of responsibility. A classic example is that of a teen wanting a car so badly that they don’t even think about all the costs and responsibilities that go into having one.

They will eventually call AAA or a locksmith. It will be a young, good looking guy. The girls will go GA GA over him and then ? ? ? ?

“End of Drama.” Heh. I think Greg has something up his Speedball that will make “Comedy of Errors” look like a visit to a morgue.

In agreement with you and kfccanada, This is time to keep your head on a swivel, and notice EVERYTHING around you… and it doesn’t hurt for them to hold their keys in their hand “Wolverine style”… of course, prevention was in order, here… as in keeping a charged phone… and in all seriousness, a whistle… hopefully she and Delta will use the “Buddy System” effectively to watch each other’s backs, literally AND figuratively, by looking around in each direction in a teamwork sort of way, and not letting each out of the other’s sight….
